Listen to the Silences

I just read a passage from another blog (My Monastery Blog) that rocked me back: "the difference between a good muscian and a great musician is that a good muscian plays the notes while a great muscian plays the silences"

It is important that we pray and speak to God, but is imperative that we listen between the prayers.

Summer Prayers

There's something about praying with the smell of magnolias and the buzz of mosquitoes that makes summer such a prayerful time. Remember sweating in the old churches before air conditioning and even today at a funeral out in a country cemetary next to the old church...man that's praying, or what the sisters in their heavy habits used to call "offering it up."

I guess that's why some have the revivals in the summer... if you ain't sweating... you ain't feeling the Lord.
